U.S. to play Catalonia and Switzerland (AP)

The U.S. soccer team will play exhibition games in Europe against Catalonia and Switzerland in October. The Americans meet Catalonia, a Spanish regional team, on Oct. 14 at Barcelona, Spain, then play at Switzerland three days later. Because Catalonia is not a FIFA member, that game will not be considered a full international.

Owen returns to international play (AP)
