Samp took a shock lead on the break, Maggio ran clear down the right, cut inside the box and waited for Frey to move to his near post before rolling the ball between his legs into the opposite corner.
Vieri headed in the equaliser from a teasing Mutu cross and the Romanian hit man put Fiorentina in front from the penalty spot. In the fourth minute of injury time Bonazzoli met a hit and hope cross into the box and was completely off target however the ball fell kindly for Gastaldello to head in the equaliser.

A humiliating first half for the visitors began with Chiellini heading in a Camoranesi free kick. Del Piero ran onto a Zanetti pass before stepping inside the painfully slow Cribari and curling a low left foot shot inside Ballotta’s post. Trezeguet got on the end of a Camoranesi pass to score the fourth.

Mauri headed down a cross to Bianchi who embarrassed Buffon, forced off his line by his crap defence, with an exquisite close range lob. Siviglia scored the pick of the goals with a spectacular diving header. Chiellini scrambled in the fifth from a corner.

Mancini headed in Roma’s third from an outstanding Cicinho cross and finished off a rapid counter attack to score the fourth. Ventola headed in Torino’s consolation goal.
